Cape Town-born Thinus Fourie is a middle-order batsman and brisk medium-pace bowler who first played for Ireland in 2004 but had to wait until 2007 to break into the international side. His first-class debut came in the Intercontinental Cup final where he took 3 for 31 in Canada's first innings, and a month later he made his ODI debut in a double-header against South Africa and India. He coaches at Dublin's Gonzaga College.
